Valentine's Day is right around the corner. The air is filled with the sweet smells of chocolates champagne and gourmet meals. What a perfect setting for the big question. But hold it! First you have to get the ring. The idea of getting the bride something to signify the engagement has been around since caveman times. Archeologists found the remains of cavemen and women together with braided grass around the females wrist. Keeping up with that thought ancient Egyptians were buried with rings of silver or gold wire around the third finger. So this concept of giving the spouse to be a gift is nothing new. What is "new" is the style ideas going into the engagement ring. As jewelers, doing business for over 14 years we have seen quite the variety of engagement rings. Diamonds will always be the traditional first choice for most people. We can't all afford an engagement ring like Elizabeth Taylors famed 33 carat flawless diamond, but there are alternatives. The key to picking the right stone is keeping within your budget.
The traditional tiffany style diamond ring as shown here is all about the diamond. No halo's, no diamonds on the band just metal and diamond.
Then there is the ring style that has a round diamond with a halo of diamonds surrounding it. This is a great way to enhance the look. The additional diamonds on the shank just add to the bling of the whole piece.
Of course there is also the greatest option we love to suggest (as we are a custom shop) is a custom made engagement ring. Entering this realm gives you an unlimited amount of options. Again staying within the original budget. In this particular option the solitaire diamond is kissed by 3 baguette diamonds on either side. We supplied all of the diamonds for this particular ring, but that is not always necessary. As a matter of fact, that is not the only option either. More often then not, customers supply Mom's diamonds, or Grandma's diamond to create the ring of their dreams.
Marrying the person of your dreams is the goal. We will help you get there with an amazing ring and an even more amazing wedding set. Happy Valentine's Day!!!
